Bonds Available to Electronic Vehicle Registration (EVR) Clients in CA
First Advantage ADR announced that it is helping to make surety bonds available to its clients through a unique referral program with First American Property and Casualty Insurance Company. This new offering could help First Advantage ADR clients meet the requirements by the state of California for the Business Partner Automation (BPA) program that allows First Advantage ADR clients to take advantage of Electronic Vehicle Registration (EVR) and other services. COMPLIANCE ISSUES

State News - The Oregon DMV will soon be offering a Real-Time Driving Record Service that will allow qualified First Advantage ADR customers to access Oregon driving records via a real time connection. With this connection customers will be able to request the following driving records: 1) a three year Employment Driving Record (RE); 2) a three year Non-Employment Driving Record (RR); and 3) a Certified Court Print (RC). What’s more, along with this new and improved ordering method comes a new and reduced state price - $.50 per record. We’ll keep you posted!

Regulations - California SB1500 (Chapter [CH] 920, 2004) – On 1/1/2006 all insurance companies were required to report insurance status on CA registered vehicles. Effective 7/1/2006, law enforcement and court personnel have access to CA DMV records to verify vehicle registration. Effective 10/1/2006, CA vehicle registration is subject to suspension if liability insurance is cancelled, or if the insurance company has not electronically provided proof of insurance, or if false insurance information is provided to the DMV.

REAL ID Act – We are closely monitoring the potential, far reaching implications of federal legislation passed in May 2005 requiring states to meet federal ID standards. While the federal government has not yet released its guidelines, the states must comply by May 2008.
